Wellness runs deep in Palm Springs, which got its name “because of these hot springs,” says The Spa at Séc-he’s director, Daniel Spencer. “These ancient waters are part of a practice the [Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians] tribe has been doing for a long time.” Here’s how to rebalance, remove EMF (electromagnetic fields) or just enjoy a rejuvenating Coachella Valley retreat.

1. Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza’s The Spa at Séc-he

» This sprawling new 73,000-square-foot complex, built atop the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians’ historic hot mineral spring, marries ancient rituals with the latest wellness science. Among the world’s top spas and an award-winner in sustainability, the facility’s offerings include cryotherapy, two flotation tanks, grounded tranquility rooms with zero-gravity conductive chairs and two halotherapy salt caves to improve breathing. Begin with the Taking of the Waters, a 15-minute soak in 22 private mineral baths set at 105 degrees, then enjoy the pool deck with a waterfall pool and zero-edge mineral pool. Then, opt for the results-driven Jetpeel Facial or the Quartz and Poultice Massage — and rinse off in a locker room with shower heads that filter out chlorine and feature thoughtful products like Eurospa Aromatics.

5. Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa

» The Miramonte hotel got a makeover when it reopened in November as a TommyBahama property, which is situated on 11 acres of olive and citrus trees (whose fruits guests can pick and fresh-squeeze at the bar). The Rosa Boutique sells Tommy Bahama apparel, 215 tropical rooms flaunt the brand’s signature prints and restaurant Grapefruit Basil serves Cali-inspired dishes. Also redone was the two-floor, indoor-outdoor Spa Rosa — which offers treatments like the Island State of Mind, a full-body exfoliation with papaya, pineapple and bamboo. Afterward, linger in the outdoor soaking pool and snap a pick from the wallpapered terrace.
