Aston Martin rolled out its new Rapide at a wear-a-black-suit-if-ya-got-it to-do at the SLS Hotel in Bev Hills. This car is pretty. It's the prettiest damned four-door I've ever seen. As at most car events, no one really paid attention to the celebs on hand, in this case, Chelsea Handler (who has a vehicle on order) and her pal Jenny McCarthy (who I ran into a while ago at the Tesla launch—the girl must like cars), and everyone oohed and aahed over the car and took iPhone snaps. Same thing happened at the Walk of Style this year when Prince Albert showed up at Cartier. Prince Albert, a beautiful silver sports car: snap, snap. The party was great fun, and folks were already lining up to chat with the car dealers and lay their money down. I just went to the valet station and picked up my 1996 black two-door, three-dents Dodge Neon. No one got out their iPhone.
