The Seen: Planet Buca

When we get an invitation from Sylvester Stallone and Danny DeVito to come over for a drink the only questions we ask are what time and what do we wear? It turned out to be more of a press conference announcing that the Planet Hollywood fellas (Robert Earl and Sly) had purchased the kitschy Italian restaurant chain Buca di Beppo and that DeVito's signature Limoncello will be the belle of the new Buca. Stallone and DeVito raised their glasses along with Charlie Sheen (on the wagon, but there to support the American Heart Association—a beneficiary of booze sales for the month of February) at the Beppo at Universal City Hollywood. "I designed the bottle," DeVito beamed as he rubbed the rough lemon on the bottle for me. "It's scratch and sniff." I thought it was a goof and leaned over to sniff, and sure enough, lemony. There was a buffet afterwards of the fancied up menu items (good mozzarella) and Sly stopped at a portrait artist on CityWalk who drew him as Rambo I.
