Although the crash of Metrolink train 111 was almost two months ago, the horror of it 25 people were killed that September day—still remains fresh in the minds of Angelenos. Verification of text messages being sent by the Metrolink engineer up to 22 seconds before the crash occurred serve as a chilling reminder of how monumental tragedy is intertwined with the mundane—sometimes just a button-push away.
